Update.....things aren't going so well
Last week we got the news that my grandma was dying. We knew she was very sick, she has horrible stomach issues (she has 1/3 of her stomach left due to ulcers) and weighs 75lbs. She lost 10lbs w/ in the last month or so. My mom and her siblings got her admitted to the hospital and a CT determined that my grandma has a non-repairable stomach problem and will not make it very long. I will save you all from the long story, there were a few options she could have choosen but non of the benefits out weighed the risks and she chose to let nature take its course and just wants to be kept comfortable. My gma and I are very close, she and my gpa (who passed 01/09) helped my raise my sister and I when my parents divorced. They were our second parents, sometimes our only parents. I've been spending as much time as I can taking care of my gma and just soaking up every single minute I can w/ her. Hospice is working w/ us and let me just say Hospice is AH-MAZING!!! Its looking like my gma has about a month left- give or take. Next on the list of not-so-great things, my sister is having a HARD time. Having her husband deployed to Iraq, living here w/ me and my boys, not having a permanent "life" is really taking its toll on her. She has always been a motivated/determined person who changed her situation if she wasn't happy in it. But she can not change any of the things going on right now. Lastly, we have my sweet lil guy Blake. His health was taking a turn for the better and not having to miss school etc. That ended tonight. My husband and I were just about to dismiss his complaints when we discovered he had at temp of 102.5. After that he threw up and was shaking. I really hope Blake's temp etc are a fluke because again, he needs to be well for school on Monday---- and of course the main thing is we want him HEALTHY!

Blake's school is nothing but a huge germ box :(
Because I still suck at adding pix....these are suppose to be at the bottom of my post. The first one is my Hubsand Bobby and Blake wearing True Blue Tarheel Gear for the big UNC Tarheel vs Duke basketball game last Sauturday night. The second pic is my sweet Blake in his Dr Seuss hat and bowtie ~ with cute little black nose and whiskers too :) love them!!
Now, on to my rant about School Germs.....
Blake never went to daycare, MDO, or PreK. So we were told by his Pedi that when he started school he would get sick frequently due to the new exposure of kid germs. Kids are so stinkin germy. Blake was 4yrs old before he ever had an antibiotic ~ pretty fantastic right?! Well, that was for a sinus infection. He did struggle w/ Tonsilitis though. Alot! He didn't take antibiotics for it as it is believed to be viral.
Bring on Kindergarten, many missed days of school and Blake suffering and we made the decision to take his tonsils out! We did so this past September. Much to our suprise this was not the Cure All. He has been sick more this school year than any other year in his life. What's up w/ 1st grade!?!
This week he is home with bronchitis/pneumonia ~ not sure which one, as they are both treated the same, we didn't feel XRays were important. So again, Blake missed school this week ~ 3 days so far.
I am going to research a Super Vitamen or a Bubbble suit he can wear to school.
Everyone else is doing pretty well.
Shay started a new job, she is sooo excited. She will be working as a counselor to young adults with substance addictions or mental issues. What a great start for her career! My BIL is staying safe in Iraq ~ thank you God ~ and he and Shay are able to talk daily which is awesome. They are planning their honeymoon ~ which will be when he gets to take his 2wks of R&R. St Lucia anyone?!?!

Hump Day
It's hump day. Wednesdays are a good day in the Bostic house. Our family fave TV shows are on tonight: The Middle and Modern Family, oh and American Idol!
Blake LOVES The Middle.....he belly laughs at this show. Brick, the youngest child, cracks us up when he looks down and repeats a word or two of his last sentence. == head down "last sentence"== LOL Love it!
Modern Family is a bit too grown up for Blake some times, so we have it DVR'd most days....incase we need to fast forward.
Bobby and I have watached American Idol since the first season. Imagine how old we feel when these contestants say "I've been watching Idol since I was 7yrs old and couldn't wait to turn 15 so I could try out" Ugh! Seriously, makes us feel OLD! (I am a bit more touchy to this b/c this August I will turn the big 30!)
My posts feel so choppy. Its like I can't get my words/ thoughts to flow or something. Maybe, with time and more posts it will get better.
I want to add some pictures but not sure which ones. Let me think on this....maybe I will have just a picture post later today or this week.
Enjoy your Hump Day :)

Today is the day
As I type this Shay and my BIL are saying their goodbyes (or as I prefer to say "see ya later"). I can feel her pain/sadness but she assured me her BFF wine is there w/ her. LOL
Please pray for them, this is their first time dealing w/ a deployment (he has been deployed before he met Shay tho). They've been married since Oct 23rd 2010.
In other news, Blake got an amazing report card. We are so proud of him :)
That's all for now, I hope to post some pictures from Shay's arrival. And possibly some winter weather ~ we have freezing rain right now (not sure it will amount to anything).

What's this, a new post?!?!

Trying this blogging thing out again, for myself. I want to journal things that are going on in my life and this is the perfect way.
So, what's up this week?
~ My sister's husband (yes, my sister has be married since my last post) is deploying to Iraq on Friday.
~ Shay (my sis) is flying home Thursday and will remain here until her husband comes back home. I should mentioned they are stationed in Alaska.
~ My wonderful son went on a field trip today- with his FIRST grade class. I just can't believe he is growing up sooo fast!
Thats all I can think of right now. My next post will hopefully contain pictures of all the big events from the past year. Pictures are so important to me and I have a ton saved on my computer but seeing all the blogs I follow have pictures in almost every post. I'm hoping my posts will too.
Here are a few to start things off. I need to work on getting the pix in the right place....agh!
The first picture is my beautiful sister on her wedding day.
Second is Shay and Daniel (my sis and new hubby)
Last pictures are of Blake's 6th birthday. Cupcakes for breakfast~ yum!

Long time no post, I know I rock at blogging!!!
Where should I start......hmmm
I will just start off by apologizing to myself - I had a goal to post several times a week. Then, to whomever may read this blog I apologize for the lack of updates.
The 4th of July sucked.....I had to sleep from 8am-3:30pm, get dressed for work, and then spend 1.5 hours w/ my boys....and the party of people who were at our house for "our" July 4th cookout w. swimming and fireworks. It was the first Holiday I have ever missed spending w/ Blake. BUT I do have to work as people do not stop needing medical care....so off I went. I then proceeded to work overtime.....go by walley world to get groceries.....get home at 2pm Sunday afternoon. I was tired. And I have a sinus infection so sleeping was quite a challenge....then Blake got sick. We had a rough weekend - as you can tell.
Tuesday was good though. Blake and I joined my dad and sis to see Ice Age 2...dawn of the dinos....it was very cute. After the movie....Shay took Blake home (b/c he was still sick just a touch), and I went w/ Cindy and Jenny to have our bridesmaid dresses altered. It was nice to hang out w/ the girls and try on beautiful dresses....ahhhhh. Then we started talking about seeing our lil Blakey in a tux! How stinkin freakin cute is my son going to be in his tux???
Wednesday- or today I suppose....I went to my PCP for some ABs b/c I just can't kick my sinus infection. We hung out w/ the great grands for a while after that. Then, we visited my dad and gma.
After that we came home for mommy to tidy up things and for Mister B to eat.
So its been a decent day....everyone is feeling better or should start feeling better soooon.
Oh and Bobby is still here...LOL He is just busy at the gym (wink wink- yes he is getting hotter and hotter) and working. So, we had 30 mins of kid free time tonight before he had to go to sleep and we watched a very old DVRd episode of 90210...LMBO and we were both into it. Oh and we exchanged back rubs. Oh yes we are exciting people!

I am going crazy- join me want 'cha?
Slowly I have begun to find myself again = after these months of sickness/ job loss/ etc etc etc.
I went to the grocery store, cooked dinner, washed dishes, did laundry, and made dessert. This may not seem like alot to most of you. For me, this is huge. I have been so sick this year that these few chores are in fact huge accomplishments. And I am still alive LOL
I do have to go back to work tonight at 7 to start my weekend of work/sleep. I find that I really do love my schedule. It was rough at first....and I am still adjusting to it. However, it is great to have all week w/ Blake.
Before I can go in to work I have some things that I must get done. I have a paper (packet of papers) that HAS to be mailed today. I need to visit my mom and gma. The car is overdue for an oil change and tire rotation. It doesn't sound like a lot but its already 11 and I leave for work at 5:30.
I hope to have some interesting things to post sometime soon but my life has just been a crazy mess lately.
Have a great weekend everyone:)
